Aloha Kumu,
It's Bret Yager with West Hawaii Today, writing about a proposal some of the kumu are talking about to kapu the taking of liko from the ohia forests, to stop the spread of rapid ohia death virus. Unfortunately, that would mean no ohia for the Merrie Monarch, but some say it is worth it to protect the forests.
What do you think? Any thoughts you could share for an article would be much appreciated. You can reach me at my email at byager@westhawaiitoday.com or 930-8617.

Mahalo!
Bret
